Description

The Industrial Data Analyst Certification Project will teach participants how to carry out and implement the data analysis required to reduce variation, defects, manufacturing costs, and product development time or bottlenecks in an industrial environment. The goals of the certification project are twofold. First, the participant will practice classroom skills in the workplace to experience first-hand, the power of their new skillset and to demonstrate its value to colleagues, supervisors and their employer. Secondly, the trainee’s employer will have spent significant time and money on the program and should rightfully expect to see a return on their investment. The typical certification project will have a $50 – 100K return. The second goal of the certification project is to bring that return back to the employer. Financial impact as an outcome is a requirement. JMC provides coaching from experienced statistician / project leaders to make sure this happens.

The following projects provide some examples.

  • Design of Experiments to validate or develop a new product.

  • Analysis of Historical data to reduce defect levels or production costs.

  • Time Series Analysis to eliminate production bottlenecks.

  • Capability Analysis to demonstrate product capability for customer delivery.

  • Measurement System Analysis to reduce measurement / overall variation.

  • Attribute Agreement Studies to improve inspection process performance.

  • QA Sampling Plan development to minimize testing and optimize monitoring.

  • Multiple Linear Regression analysis of production data to reduce manufacturing costs.
